As the election fever grips across Karnataka, its current Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, is trying his best to retain his government. He is going too far and crossing all possible lines to achieve his goal. First, he tried his best to divide the votes on the basis of religion and caste by playing the Lingayat issue. Last month, he had sent a request to Modi Govt. to give Lingayat a separate religious status. But his own party, Congress, in 2013 had rejected the same request when it was made by Lingayat community.
