Change of use plans could see the land west of London Road in Kessingland, Lowestoft transformed for the siting of 16 caravans - provided plans get the go-ahead.

The plans, which are currently "awaiting decision", were lodged with East Suffolk Council last week.

A scheme centring around "Change of use of the land for the siting of eight static caravans (mobile homes) and eight touring caravans for Gypsy/Traveller occupation" has been proposed.

The planning application adds: "Use of existing access. Associated hard and soft landscaping improvements with biodiversity enhancements" for the land west of London Road in Kessingland.

The plans submitted by agents Perfect Pitch Planning Ltd on behalf of the applicant Ms Kayleigh Smith were lodged with East Suffolk Council on Wednesday.

With the current use of the site listed as "agricultural", the site area measures 0.40 hectares (0.98 acres)

The applications states 16 car parking spaces are also proposed in the plans.

East Suffolk Council are likely to make a decision in the coming weeks.
