New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently revised the paper pattern for Class 10, 12 board exam students. As per the CBSE new paper pattern, 50 per cent of the questions will be competency-based, 20 per cent of the questions are MCQs and 30 per cent will be short/ long answer type questions. CBSE secretary Himanshu Gupta said that the paper pattern has been revised in cognizance with the modern day education system followed worldwide and to benefit more students in clearing the competitive exams- JEE, NEET, CUET.

“The success rate of CBSE students clearing the competitive exams are quite high in comparison to other boards in India, as the NCERT paper pattern is followed in most of the competitive exams- JEE, NEET, CUET. The new paper pattern which give more stress to competency based, logical questions rather than rote learning will definitely help students in cracking the tough entrance exams,” the board secretary told News

Regarding the Open Book Exams, the board official said that it’s a pilot project started with Class 9 in some schools. “CBSE will analyse the different parameters of the Open Book Exam through the pilot project before making it official for Class 10, 12 students,” said the official.

CBSE secretary Himanshu Gupta was present at the Delhi Public School (DPS) Greater Noida’s ‘Scholar Award Ceremony’ today, April 22 and felicitated nearly 300 students who received this award. Complimenting the scholars on their remarkable feat, the CBSE secretary urged them to make the most of their school life where they learn significant life skills and values that are as important as any academic degree.

CBSE 10th, 12th results will be announced in May. “The evaluation process for Class 10, 12 is going on and like last year, the result will be announced in May,” the official said.

The DPS Greater Noida Principal Sandhya Awasthi is expecting commendable results in both Class 10 and 12 like previous years. “Not only CBSE, our students have excelled in JEE, NEET. “The elated performance in CBSE entrance exam results are due to the school’s commitment to providing a conducive environment to learners of varied kinds to bring out the best in them.” the principal said.
