New Delhi: Punjab Kings skipper Sam Curran said that the side will surely bounce back in the upcoming games of Indian Premier League after the hosts went down to Rajasthan Royals by 3 wickets despite a valiant effort on Saturday. Batting first, Kings scored 147/8 in the stipulated 20 overs while RR managed to chased the score (152/7) with a ball to spare in what was a last-over heroics by Shimron Hetmyer.

The skipper after the Saturday’s clash said that the wicket was slow but the team did not start well with the bat and were not able to end it well as they posted just a below-par total. However, the skipper praise the lower order for the efforts they did at last to push the total close to 150. He however said that they tried to keep the RR side down but unfortunately went down.

“The wicket was slightly slow, but we didn’t start well with the bat and didn’t finish well in the end. It was a good effort from the lower order, getting close to 150 was excellent, the bowling was good, we kept them down, unfortunately another close loss”, said Curran.

The skipper further said that despite the loss in the match, he is confident that the team will bounce back in the upcoming games of the cash-rich league.

“We stuck to our plans, bowled and fielded well, but I’m confident we’ll bounce back in the next game. Three games is a hard way to fully work out the conditions at the new venue, but we’ve adapted well, we won the first match and lost two matches by close margins by 2 runs and 3 wickets, hard to take, but the boys will be lifted by how well we’ve played in the last couple of games.
