KARACHI – Heatwave will continue to persist in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Thursday and Friday, says the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

A westerly wave will likely enter western parts of the country on Friday evening/night. It will likely grip upper parts on Saturday.

Under the influence of these conditions, day temperatures will remain 03-05 degrees Celsius above normal levels in the port city, Hyderabad and most parts of the province from May 08 to May 10 (Wednesday-Friday). Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qambar Shahdad Kot, Jamshoro and Sanghar on Friday night and Saturday. Gusty winds and rains will help bringing the temperatures to the normal levels.

Medical experts have advised general public to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight. They suggested extra care for the children and elderly people.
