ISLAMABAD – More rain-wind/thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday evening/night, Saturday and Sunday. Wet spell will likely help bringing the temperatures to normal levels.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), westerly wave prevails over upper and central parts of Pakistan.
Under the influence of this weather system, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, upper/central Punjab, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Balochistan on Friday evening/night and the following two days. Isolated heavy falls/hailstorms are also likely during the period.
The wet spell will help bringing the temperatures to the normal levels during the weekend. Presently, temperatures are 03-05 degrees Celsius above normal levels in parts of Pakistan.
Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 31-33°C on Saturday and 28-30°C on Sunday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 35-37°C on Saturday and 33-35°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in twin cities, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, Kashmir and adjoining areas during the last 24 hours. Hot and dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Jacobabad remained the hottest place in the country where maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 50 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 39 per cent.
