RIYADH – Saudi Arabian authorities and people are sighting crescent moon of Shawwal today on Monday to celebrate Eidul Fitr 2024.

The top court of the Kingdom called upon Muslims and experts to sight the crescent moon of Shawwal. As per astronomical predictions, there are fewer chances of moon to sight tonight.

If the moon is not sighted today on Monday, Eidul Fitr will fall on April 10, Wednesday, which is the expected date for most countries, including Pakistan.

If Saudi Arabia will sight moon tonight, there will be 29 days of fasting this year. However, if Saudi Arabia declares April 10, Ramadan will be 30 days.

Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development earlier announced four-day Eid holidays for the private and nonprofit sectors. Muslims in Saudi and other Islamic nations were set to enjoy long holidays on the occasion.
