What follows is the end of a journey by one citizen of Israel – a retired high-ranking IDF officer – who has had his view of the world vastly altered by events since October 7.

With the advent of world-wide organised protests against Netanyahu’s genocidal war in Palestine, the volume of opposition to any criticism of Israel has reached fever pitch. Those who engage in ‘the business of the Holocaust Cloak’ are lunging at the end of their chains like pitbulls at a cat parade.

These people are often NOT residents of Israel, NOT actually involved in the action, NOT at personal risk. They shout from their self-erected plinths because it is only in this cacophony that they feel estimable – it is their 15 minutes of fame, regurgitated ad infinitum.

We see doyens of righteousness, ranging from University administrators through Police forces and their masters, take up the cudgels against the demonstrators. It was forever thus: recall the action against the anti-Vietnam War protesters including the Kent State shootings. Our current government treads this path, though predictably the Opposition is ever more strident and obnoxious.

We have a plethora of ‘Jewish Representative’ groups in Australia, all claiming without mandate to actually be representative, beating the ‘antisemitic’ drum at the metaphorical drop of a yarmulke. Thankfully, we have also the emergence of groups of more culturally responsible Jews (a growing worldwide movement) who recognise that the actions of the Netanyahu government are untenable and are forging Israel as a Pariah State: a genocidal and apartheid regime.

The Holocaust Cloak mob would have us kowtow to the notion that every citizen of Israel resolutely believes that ‘the fight’ against Palestine – even if called the fight against Hamas – is a righteous crusade for survival: ‘win or bust’ stuff. The immediate Israeli reaction to the terrible events of 7 October was understandably very much this, but time and more perspective has changed opinion at least for some. Netanyahu’s media censorship seeks to nullify that.

What follows is the end of the journey of one citizen of Israel who has had his view of the world vastly altered by events since October 7. I cannot use verbatim quotes at all times nor disclose his personal details as he now likely has enemies at the highest level of Israeli administration – people with vast power and the inclination to use it malignantly.

For this purpose I will use the name ‘David’ (and hope, since I am not a scholar of Hebrew history, that it has no adverse connotations).

David is a retired high-ranking IDF officer. I only know him from messages to his friends across the world that have been forwarded to me by a close friend of mine who has Jewish ancestry. David is evidently a very intelligent person, a proud ex-officer of the IDF, a lover of classical music, someone who strives to improve the lot of those he is close to: someone who deserves to be called ‘civilised’.

From David, October 12, 2023 (extracts; his position has had Hamas rockets and other munitions overhead/within the area; his writing is from a tired and severely stressed person. The text is reproduced as received):

– As it is now: At list 1300 murdered, three thousands wounded, 200 missing, more than 150 in Gaza, captives the hands of Hamas.
Still discovering the horrible atrocities. Reminding us the cruelty of Isis and the Nazis that For Jewish Israeli psychosis it is a horrible rememberns.

– Still finding Hamas terrorists hiding and finding them one by one.

– The decision is to destroy Hamas total destruction: Resources, personnel, installations, infrastructure. Everything. The decision is that when this war is ending there will be no Hamas. We know the targets, we know the leaders, we know them one by one and we will get rid of them all.

The American appearance in the area: … It is extraordinary moral and physical support.

Having said that, President Trump launched a very ugly comment toward our PM (Bibi) and the Minister of Defence: Galant relating to the war. Nobody can blame me for admiring these two people, politically and personally.

From David, April 28, 2024 – from a speech he gave to demonstrators: (also extracts):

In a moment I will ask everyone gathered here tonight for a minute of complete silence.
the demonstrators.

The police.

The undercover policeman that is taking pictures of us – the demonstrators.

And Bibi and Sara too

Bibi and Sarah, you know me very well… Remember Bibi? In one of the [XXXX graduation] – not long ago – you said that I am the “salt of the earth”, you also wrote … that you knew I would come to rescue you when you got stuck somewhere in the dark…..I ask that you join us for this moment.

And because you – Bibi – brought me to this place and because you are not ready to admit your responsibility.

And because you don’t want this war to end

And since the abductees interest you less than your personal goals…I swear that I will do everything necessary so that you will be dismissed together with your malicious government that supports you. That you and your malicious government will disappear from our lives forever.

This was in a speech to a demonstration – not at a University in a foreign land where the administrators vie to appear to be the strongest supporters of Israel, not in a parliamentary body where politicians safely distant from the realities and posture for media attention – but outside the home of Netanyahu himself.

‘David’ spoke these words in condemnation of the evil that is being done by Netanyahu’s government.

Compare and contrast with the utterances and actions of the squealing, yapping ‘antisemitic warriors’ in the West.
