It wasn’t Iowa vs. LSU drawing a record 12.3 million viewers and dominating conversations on Monday night. It was Caitlin vs. Angel, two first-name-basis stars meeting for the final time in the waning days of their college careers. As classic sports storylines go, few are better, and the game more than lived up to the hype.

Credit goes to the players, their coaches and their teammates. But just as much, if not more, is due to the WNBA, and its rule that players are only eligible for its ranks at age 22 (international players are eligible at 20).
