Efforts continue to rescue the 41 workers trapped inside the collapsed Silkyara-Barkot tunnel in Uttarkashi since November 12. With the American Auger machine down, a multi-pronged approach of six plans is being employed, including rat-hole mining, reported the Press Trust of India.

Rat-hole mining experts have been roped in to manually drill through the rubble, as visuals show their efforts to remove debris and make their way into the tunnel.

Meanwhile, light rainfall in the area has been forecasted in the area, India Today reported.

According to India Today, a plasma cutter was airlifted, and a team from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Army engineers joined the operation on Monday.
