An East Midlands train travelling between Liverpool Lime Street and Norwich derailed after hitting a tree between Thetford and Harling Road shortly after 9pm on Tuesday.
Norfolk police said one person suffered minor injuries.
Greater Anglia services between Norwich and Ely have been cancelled.

Greater Anglia is advising people not to travel.
A spokesman for the train company said: "Train services between Norwich and Cambridge have been suspended.
"Train services between Norwich and Stansted Airport will only operate between Cambridge and Stansted Airport. At present, we have no estimate of when the line will reopen"
Eight appliances from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service were called to the derailment at about 9.15pm.
The crews were from East Harling, Thetford, Attleborough, Watton, Hingham, Wymondham, Diss and Carrow.
They provided scene safety and casualty care.
British Transport Police and Network Rail are investigating.
A stop time was called at 12am on Wednesday.
