Proposals lodged with South Norfolk Council would see the Brickyard cafe in Hedenham, on the main Norwich to Bungay road, become home to H Space Movement.

The fitness company is currently based at Earsham Hall in Bungay but hopes to relocate into the vacant site, near Woodton.

The Brickyard cafe, formerly known as Everyday's a Picnic, closed at the end of 2023 and has been empty ever since.

H Space Movement is a personal training health and fitness business that also runs group sessions. It is hoped that the Brickyard would provide space for larger and more accessible facilities in a rural location.

The new premises would be open between 6am and 9pm from Monday to Friday, 7am until 3pm on Saturdays and 8am until 11am on Sundays.

Current staff would be relocated with the possibility of new part time jobs becoming available.

South Norfolk Council will decide whether the change of use should go ahead in due course.
