Pilot photographer Mike Page took to the skies and caught a bird's-eye-view of ongoing developments at James Paget University Hospital (JPUH) in Gorleston.

Ground has recently been cleared to make way for a new 376-space car park in an attempt to alleviate some of the hospital's ongoing parking issues.

The temporary car park, on land recently bought from the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Allotment Association, will be in use until the development of a new hospital is underway.

Building began last summer and the facility will feature a new MRI and CT scanner, additional ultrasound imaging equipment and an X-ray room.

These are used for diagnosis and monitoring of a wide range of conditions, including cancer, heart disease, stroke, respiratory diseases, trauma, musculoskeletal diseases, and neurological conditions.

Modules for the ward arrived in March - before the development's planning application had been approved. The new ward was given the green light later in March.

The hospital's new ward comes as patients have been reported to have been waiting 15 months to be seen on average. Health bosses say it will drastically reduce waits for treatment to just 18 weeks.

It is expected to be completed this summer, and along with the Diagnostics Centre and the recently-opened Concept Ward, are the first three permanent buildings of the new healthcare campus, which will include a new hospital.
