The defender, who played 26 times for the Canaries during the 2021-22 season, will stand trial after pleading not guilty to two driving offences.

The 23-year-old, who is currently on loan at East Anglian rivals Ipswich Town, is accused of driving an Audi A3 S Line on the A34 Ainslie Way in Wilmslow in a dangerous manner on August 20, 2023.

Earlier that month, on August 2, Williams, of Harpurhey, Manchester, is alleged to have driven the same car on the same road but without third-party insurance.

The full-back, who has made 51 appearances for his parent club Manchester United scoring one goal, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday where he denied both charges.

He will return to the court on the week commencing March 17, 2025, for trial.

His solicitors will deliver the grounds of his not guilty plea to the court in June.

Williams has been granted unconditional bail until the date of the trial.
