Home-schooling a good option vs. public schools

To the Editor:

It appears more and more the state public school system is run by the radical liberal left. We live in a day when commonsense is not so common. The Clyde-Savannah Board of Education fits this description.

Olivia Summers got it right when she said: “There is absolutely no educational value or interest in exposing children to gratuitous and graphic sexual content such as contained in the books the school board allowed to remain accessible to minors.”

That said, it is time to move on to the home-school option. It is said the home-school population has been growing at somewhere around 8% per annum over the past several years. Research facts on home-schooling show that home-educated are doing well, typically above average on measures of social, emotional, psychological, spiritual development and scholastic achievement. They do significantly better than those in conventional schools. Contrary to what some may think, home-schoolers also are commonly involved in activities such as field trips, scouting, 4-H, church ministry, sports teams and community volunteer work.

Somebody said there are none so blind than those that refuse to see. The Clyde-Savannah Board of Education fits this description too. Can you trust these people with your children?

Time to abandon this sinking ship and join commonsense moms and dads who home-school. Praise the Lord!
