The folks over at MSNBC could really use a few days outside of their echo chamber to decompress and relieve themselves of the constant sense of fear and loathing they must be feeling.

This week, we’ve seen a host on the network claim former President Donald Trump will execute his political opponents if he wins in 2024.

And on Tuesday, former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) went even further to suggest Trump is “more dangerous” than Adolf Hitler or Benito Mussolini. Seriously.

“A lot of people have tried to draw similarities between Mussolini and Hitler and the use of the terminology like ‘vermin,’ and the drive that those men had toward autocracy and dictatorship,” McCaskill said.

She went on, “The difference though, I think, makes Donald Trump more dangerous. And that is, he has no philosophy he believes in. He is not trying to expand the boundaries of the United States of America. He’s not trying to overcome a neighboring country like Putin is in Ukraine. He is not going to some grandiose scheme of international dominance.”

The fact Trump isn’t trying to invade a country unprovoked or take over the world makes him worse?

Regrettably, her rant continued, “All he wants, is to look in the mirror and see a guy who’s president. All he cares about is selfish, self-promotion. That’s the only philosophy he has. Which makes him more dangerous.”

Because, of course, a lack of drive for selfish, self-promotion helped curb Hitler.

The notion that somehow not having a mission to take over a neighboring country unprovoked would make Trump more dangerous is just nonsense.

Never mind the fact a sitting Democratic member of Congress said Trump should be “eliminated,” before walking that statement back.

Trump has said some absolutely crazy stuff. And he is driven by what will advance his own interests politically. When he thought being pro-life would help him in 2016, he vowed to appoint justices to overturn Roe v. Wade, now he’s throwing the movement under the bus because he thinks it will help him.

That’s not to say he does not have ideological beliefs. But they can shift very rapidly depending on what voters say they want.

And yes, he has said stuff that should disqualify him from office, like parts of the Constitution should be terminated so he can be president again.

But to suggest that just because he is mercurial and does not have a solid ideological grounding that governs his policy positions makes him more dangerous than arguably the most notorious mass murderer in history is utterly ridiculous and a shameful downplaying of the horrors of the Holocaust to serve political purposes.

“All he cares about is selfish, self-promotion.”

“He looks like he’s one foot in the grave.”

“It seemed like they knew where I was at.”

“Women have drifted away from traditional values and that has pulled everyone away from family ties and community efforts.”

Actress Susan Sarandon was dropped by her entertainment agency after she made anti-Semitic remarks about Jewish people.

“It’s like a three-day event getting everything going.”

“She was like, ‘This is what I want to do.'”

“We don’t know where we are going to end up.”

“The starting time of the pause will be announced within the next 24 hours and last for four days.”

“The global search for the star of our new film starts right now.”
