Tucker Carlson said it’s “odd” that so many commentators are getting so disproportionately emotional about the October 7th massacre in Israel.

But what’s odd is that somebody who is portraying himself as putting America first ignored the American victims of the Hamas attack in his comments.

In an interview he had with Candace Owens about her ongoing dispute with Ben Shapiro, Carlson said, while he was “horrified” by the attacks, he believes commentators have become too emotionally invested in the matter.

“I feel so sorry for the Israelis who were killed,” Carlson said. “However, there is an emotional response that is disproportionate, I think, on the part of some commentators.”

He went on to say that, “Our country is being invaded right now by millions of young men whose identities we don’t know, who probably don’t like America, who are living here. Over 100,000 Americans a year die of Fentanyl. I’ve known a couple. Those are real tragedies. I’ve never seen anything like the emotion from any commentator around those tragedies as I’m watching about a foreign tragedy and I think that’s odd.”

Putting aside why people might have an emotional reaction to the largest single day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, to the images of burned bodies, to women being raped, or infants being taken hostage. Forgetting about why the rise of antisemitic attacks around the world, and within the United States, might be rattling people. Just let’s look at something through the prism of somebody who only believes its worth getting worked up about American tragedies rather than “a foreign tragedy.”

Why doesn’t Carlson mention the fact that over 30 Americans were killed in the Hamas attacks and that nine more are currently being held hostage, including a three year-old? Why is the reality of an American toddler being held by a terrorist in Gaza somehow unworthy of an emotional response from Carlson?

Say what you want about Tucker Carlson, but he is extremely smart, and it is not plausible to believe that he is unaware of the American victims of Hamas, and yet, he choose to ignore these facts.

So strange. So odd.
