David Curtin, 28, admitted stalking his former partner over a 10 month period following the break-up of their relationship in October 2022.

Norwich Magistrates’ Court heard he had bombarded her with unwanted phone calls and text messages and contacted her family and friends.

Lesla Small, prosecuting, said he had created fake social media accounts using aliases.

The gas engineer had also paid almost £3,000 into her bank account without her approval or knowledge, she added.

Curtin, of Wherry Road in Norwich, pleaded guilty to harassment and stalking.

Richard Mann, mitigating, said he was “very remorseful” and “didn’t understand the full consequences of what he was doing”.

Some of his actions had been motivated by misguided attempts to help his ex financially, he added.

District Judge Evans said it was a “serious offence” and she would not rule out custody when he is sentenced on June 6.

He was given bail conditional on not contacting his former partner, her family and not to enter a street in Reepham.
