ISLAMABAD – At least five Pakistan Customs personnel were gunned down as attackers opened fire at their vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa.

Local cops said a passerby girl came under attack to the shooting. The customs officials came under attack while on duty in the Daraban area, and the attackers fled after the shooting.

Police said unidentified attackers targeted Customs officials on Sago Road in Daraban tehsil of the district.

KP, Balochistan saw a surge in terror activities. Two weeks ago, militants attacked a police checkpost in Kulachi tehsil, but the police fought back, forcing the attackers to retreat.

Media reports suggest that militants armed with advanced weapons, including laser guns, attacked a checkpost in the Rorri area.

Security forces killed seven terrorists attempting to cross the Afghanistan-Pakistan border in KP’s North Waziristan district on Wednesday. The military’s media wing stated that the movement of the seven-member group was noticed on Tuesday by security forces in Spinkai, Ghulam Khan.

Earlier this week, army personnel informed the military leadership that terrorists in Afghanistan were using Pakistan as a target, especially regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
