PESHAWAR – Rain-wind/thunderstorms with light snowfall over the hills are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday evening/night and Friday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a weak westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist till Friday morning.

Under these conditions, light to moderate rain with wind/thunderstorms and light snowfall over the hills are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Bajaur, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Kurram, Kohat, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan on Thursday evening/night.

On Friday, light rain with wind/thunderstorm and light snowfall over the hills are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Kohistan. Dry weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 27-29 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where temperature reached 33 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 64 per cent.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 28 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 72 per cent.
