KARACHI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dirham buying rate in the open market of Pakistan slightly dropped to Rs76.5 on Monday while the selling rate is Rs77.3, according to forex.pk.

The UAE Dirham showed no change against Pakistani rupee as compared to the previous trading day’s closing of Rs76.3 in the open market of the South Asian country.

More than 1.71 million Pakistani expatriates are settled in the United Arab Emirates, making it 16.73 percent of the total population of the Gulf country.

Pakistanis are the second largest national group in the UAE after Indians. As their earnings are in the official UAE currency of the Dirham, they are interested in the daily exchange rate.

The currency code for UAE Dirhams is AED. It is subdivided into 100 fils.

As of February 12, the Dirham rate stands at Rs76.5 in the open market. So, the 500 Dirham will be equal to Rs38,250 in Pakistani currency.

People carrying Saudi currency Riyal with them to Pakistan can visit the banks or branches of the exchange companies to convert the AED into PKR.
