PESHAWAR – Cold and dry weather persisted in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday with experts predicting the prevailing conditions to persist during the next two days.

Mercury dropped to 01 degrees Celsius in Peshawar, making Sunday the coldest day of this winter season.

Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 100 per cent.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 05 C below freezing.

The dense fog continued to prevail in the plains which disrupted on inter and intra-city roads in the plains.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave prevailed over western parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar on Sunday evening/night and the next two days.

Freezing and partly cloudy weather is likely in upper districts.

Rain with light snow over hills is likely in Waziristan, D I Khan, Bannu, Kurram, Dir, Chitral and Swat.

Dense Fog is likely in Charsadda, Rashakai, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, Laki Marwat, Bannu, D I Khan and surroundings during night and morning hours.

Dense fog will continue to affect normal vehicular flow on inter and intra-city roads.

In Peshawar, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 00-02 C on Monday and 01-03 C on Tuesday.
