ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rains with snowfall over mountains for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening/night.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting most parts of Pakistan. It is likely to prevail during the next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall over mountains are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab and upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday evening/night.

On Monday and Tuesday, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain wind-thunderstorms with snowfall over mountains are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjacent areas.

Islamabad’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 02-04 degrees Celsius on Monday and 01-03 C on Tuesday.

Rawalpindi’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 06-08 C on Monday and 03-05 C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, cloudy weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. Rain-thunderstorms with snow over mountains occurred in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper/central Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 09 C below freezing.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 07 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 93 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 08 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 75 per cent.
