PESHAWAR– Widespread rains and isolated hailstorms are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday and Friday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over most parts of Balochistan. It will likely grip upper parts of Pakistan on Thursday.
Under the influence of this weather system, rain winds/thunderstorms are likely in Waziristan, Tank, Bannu and Kurram on Wednesday evening/night. Partly cloudy weather is likely elsewhere in the province.
On Thursday and Friday, rain-wind/thunderstorms with few heavy and isolated very heavy falls are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan and Kurram. Snowfall is also likely over high mountains.
Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will remain between 27-29 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 25-27 C on Friday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.
Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where maximum temperature was recorded at 31 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 82 per cent.
In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 29 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 61 per cent.
