ISLAMABAD – Significant rains and isolated hailstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday and Friday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over most parts of Balochistan. It will likely grip upper parts of Pakistan on Thursday.

Under the influence of this weather system, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected across Balochistan on Wednesday evening/night. Heavy falls/hailstorms are also expected at few places. Rain-wind/thunderstorms are also expected at few places in southern Punjab and Sindh.

On Thursday and Friday, rain-wind/thunderstorms with few heavy falls/hailstorm are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Punjab, Balochistan and upper/southwest Sindh.

Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will remain between 27-29 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 24-26 C on Friday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will remain between 26-28 C on Thursday and 25-27 C on Friday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in Balochistan and upper Sindh.

Mithi remained the hottest place in the country where maximum temperature was recorded at 41 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 55 per cent.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 29 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 70 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 28 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 56 per cent.
