ISLAMABAD – More rain-wind/thunderstorms and hailstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday evening/night and Saturday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong westerly wave prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms with few heavy falls and hailstorms are likely in the twin cities, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and north Baluchistan on Friday evening/night and Saturday. Snowfall is also likely on high mountains in northern areas of the country.
Heavy rainfall may generate flash flooding in local nullahs/streams of Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Mansehra, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and tributaries of Kabul River on Friday. Landslides are also likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Windstorm/hailstorm and lightning may damage standing crops, loose structures like electric poles and solar panels during the period.
Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 25-27 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 27-29 C on Sunday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will remain between 24-26 C on Saturday and 25-27 C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in the twin cities, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northern/central Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 20 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 100 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 20 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 90 per cent.
