MULTAN – Authorities have temporarily suspended the train services on up track after Allama Iqbal Express’ engine caught fire on Saturday.

The passenger train was heading to Sialkot from Karachi when fire erupted in its engine near Rahim Yar Khan.

Following the incident the train operations on up track till the clearance of the route.

Railways authorities said various passengers trains have been stopped at different stations, adding that down track will be used for the movement of the trains.

They said it would take two or more hours to reach the relief train at the spot.
