Ben and Max King, Jacob Weitering, Luke Davies-Uniacke, Connor Rozee, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Zak Butters, Errol Gulden and Oscar Allen are popular picks to become the AFL’s next millionaires.

Industry sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk more freely about contracts, believe Ben King and Rozee already rose to that company with their respective two- and eight-year deals in recent months.

North Melbourne rising star Harry Sheezel, in just his second season, likely did the same when he extended until 2030 in February.

Brownlow Medal fancy Tom Green, of GWS, and the Suns’ reigning club champion Noah Anderson are also considered locks to join the ever-growing millionaires club – possibly on upwards of $1.3 million per season – once they come out of contract at the end of 2027.

This masthead spoke to player agents and club list management staff to see which footballers were set to average seven figures for the first time when they sign their next contracts.

Those mega deals will be signed in a new era of salary cap spending thanks to an eventual 37 per cent increase in pay for AFL players under the new $2.2 billion collective bargaining agreement, which expires in 2027.

The massive uplift means fans, media and even clubs will need to adjust expectations on what players are actually worth, and understand a player on, say, $550,000 under the previous CBA might earn $750,000-a-year in the future.
