BSP performance in MP in 2008 and 2013 will give Congress the jitters
By ending seat sharing talks and deciding to walk it alone, Mayawati is counting on her party’s ability to play spoiler. In 2013, it won over 6% of the votes, bagged 4 seats, stood second in 15 and polled more votes than the margin between the winner and runner up in 60 constituencies. In a majority of these 60 constituencies, it was the Congress which lost.
The BSP story was even better in 2008. It won nearly 9% of the votes, bagged 7 seats, stood........
