Attitude is paramount. Deed is crucial.

With events moving so quickly and powerfully, sitting back and reflecting allows us to gain perspective.

What is going on? On the verge of a world war potentially breaking out, or at least a regional war, does all that’s happening make sense? Is it all just a bunch of random actions that are bouncing off each other like a ping pong ball?

And where does Israel fit in? Where do the Jewish people fit in? Where does humanity fit in?

If things are just happening at random, then the world seems very scary. But if G-d runs the world, then we can take a deep breath and exhale slowly, and trust in Him. If we are unclear about what we need to do, then life can be quite nerve-wracking. But if the Torah is our guide, and Mitzvot — G-d’s commandments are our modus operandi, then we can breathe a sigh of relief, content to carry on our mission with joy and certitude.

It all depends on how we look at things. It all depends on our attitude toward current events. Nervous, or calm. Fearful or full of trust. Scared or confident.

I once asked a philosopher, how life is treating him. He told me, that it’s not how life treats you, it’s how you treat life.

I would possibly add to that, that the way you treat life, can affect how life treats you.

We live in a world where, if we rely on our own senses, on our government leaders, on our country’s army, then we may be relying on false hopes (Think October 7.) But if we rely on G-d, and fulfill His Mitzvot, then we open wide channels to His blessings, so that our efforts, and the efforts of our leaders and army, can successfully accomplish good things. G-d is good. The nature of someone who is good, is to do good things. Miracles are happening — we just need to open our eyes to see them. Perhaps the complete Redemption with Moshiach will come very soon, a time when the entire world will see, that G-d runs the world, and that the way to have a world of peace, is to obey our Creator, and to fulfill the laws that He gave us at Mount Sinai, including the seven Noahide laws for all the nations of the world.

And that will bring a peaceful world. May it happen very soon.
