Imagine students rallying on Ivy League campuses and calling for the mass murder of a minority group. Given students' hungry embrace of diversity , multiculturalism, and inclusion under the banner of "wokeness," if they called for the genocide of black people, Muslims, gays, Asians, or — worst case scenario — transgender people, the response would likely be swift, relentless, and unyielding.

Yet again, all humans are equal, but Jews are less equal than others.

During a truly stunning congressional hearing titled "Holding Campus Leaders Accountable and Confronting Antisemitism," the presidents of Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Pennsylvania refused to answer "yes" to the question: Does "calling for the genocide of Jews" violate their universities' respective codes of conduct?

Instead, their answers were essentially, "Well, it depends."

🚨🚨🚨Presidents of @Harvard @MIT and @Penn REFUSE to say whether “calling for the genocide of Jews” is bullying and harassment according to their codes of conduct. Even going so far to say it needs to turn to “action” first. As in committing genocide.

When Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) asked MIT President Sally Kornbluth to answer "yes or no" to whether "calling for the genocide of Jews violates MIT's code of conduct or rules regarding bullying and harassment," Kornbluth answered, "If targeted at individuals, not making public statements," before denying that she'd heard such calls for genocide on her campus.

"But you've heard chants for intifada ," Stefanik noted, to which Kornbluth responded, "I've heard chants which can be antisemitic depending on the context when calling for the elimination of the Jewish people," and that such behavior would only be "investigated as harassment if pervasive and severe."

How many Jews need to be targeted with violence to earn Kornbluth's badge of severity? Where is this "pervasive and severe" clarification when it comes to the world of gender theory and safe spaces?

When Penn President Liz Magill was asked the same question, she said, "If the speech turns into conduct, it can be harassment," and that calls for genocide are defined as harassment if "directed and severe and pervasive," noting that Stefanik's questions were "context-dependent."

Finally, Harvard's Claudine Gay responded to "Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate Harvard's rules of bullying and harassment?" with, "It can be, depending on the context," as long as it's "targeted at an individual."

This shoddy display from the heads of three of the United States's supposedly prestigious academic institutions not only ignores the rampant antisemitism raging among the student body but proves that the rot of antisemitism has taken hold of the institutions in the form of the insidious double standard.

Of course, these responses are laughably absurd when we consider what would happen if any other group was singled out with open calls for extermination.

Last year, Harvard announced that students guilty of sizeism, fatphobia, cisheterosexism (whatever that means), and ableism would be subject to disciplinary action and that "using the wrong pronouns" constitutes "abuse."

The University of Pennsylvania has spent several years attempting to discipline a tenured professor for controversial comments, including the argument that "America would be better with fewer Asians."

MIT's sexual harassment training for students and staff describes "deadnaming" as "an act of violence" that "may trigger a trauma response."

But calling for the mass murder of Jews? That depends on the context.
