Following the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel , one slogan immediately made an appearance: “Ceasefire.”

In fact, from some, this call came prior to any response from the Israeli military. On Oct. 7, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called for “an immediate ceasefire and deescalation” to “save lives,” Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) called for “an immediate ceasefire and deescalation to prevent further loss of life,” and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) called for “deescalation and ceasefire.”

DEMOCRATS SPOOKED AFTER BIDEN SHOCK POLL AND FRET TRUMP WHITE HOUSE COMEBACK

And Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), before launching into her weekslong tirade of Hamas propaganda and Nazi-esque blood libels, responded to the terrorist attack by “griev[ing] the Palestinian and Israeli lives lost” and blaming the assault and the supposed “heartbreaking cycle of violence” on Israel and the United States.

Tlaib’s shamelessness has only grown, with the Palestinian American congresswoman accusing President Joe Biden of supporting the “genocide of the Palestinian people” and saying that he must “support a ceasefire now” or else lose Michigan’s support in 2024.

But how can Tlaib and the hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of bloodthirsty protesters standing alongside her call for a “ceasefire” when they’re calling for violence (if not genocide) in the same breath?

During the same video Tlaib shared accusing Biden of supporting genocide, multiple chants were included that, by definition, fly in the face of any ceasefire.

“No peace on stolen land!”

“The occupation’s got to go!”

“End the blockage! Break the siege!”

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

The latter is a call for Jewish genocide .

And these were just the chants included by Tlaib in her not-too-subtle threat to Biden. What about more explicit calls for violence exploding across the country?

“Intifada!”

“Resistance by any means necessary.”

And, of course, the ever-so-subtle “f*** the Jews,” “gas the Jews,” and “kill the Jews.”

Some will argue these are just the words of protesters and that they have no bearing on the conflict itself. But the idea of a ceasefire becomes even more absurd when we consider what one side of this war, Hamas, is saying.

“This is just the first time, and there will be a second, a third, a fourth, because we have the determination, the resolve, and the capabilities to fight,” Ghazi Hamad of the Hamas Political Bureau proudly announced . “Will we have to pay a price? Yes, and we are ready to pay it. We are called a nation of martyrs, and we are proud to sacrifice martyrs.”

If you can look at both sides of this so-called conflict — in which Hamas continues to hold Israeli hostages, continues to launch waves of rocket attacks against civilian targets, and continues to promise to attack Israel any chance it gets — and still call for a ceasefire, you are either deeply naive or disgustingly antisemitic.

To demand a ceasefire is to demand that Israel cease defending itself against a relentless terrorist organization motivated solely by the eradication of Jews.

Some are too ignorant to understand this brutal reality. For others, having the world’s only Jewish state stand defenseless in the crosshairs of groups such as Hamas is the goal.

After all, achieving the genocidal heart of “intifada,” “resistance by any means necessary,” and “free Palestine from the river to the sea” is far easier when Jews refuse to fight back.
